Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and AYN Services Inc. ("we", "us"), of Ontario, Canada, the maker and seller of Speech Pill. By creating an account or using Speech Pill, you agree to them. Please read them with our privacy policy and refund policy.

1. Your account

• You need an account to use Speech Pill. You sign in with an emailed code, or with Google or Microsoft when those are offered.
• You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
• Keep your email account secure: anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. Tell us at once if you think someone else used your account.

2. Plans

• Free: up to 5,000 dictated words a week. The week starts again every Monday at midnight, your PC's time. A dictation that starts under the limit always finishes.
• Pro: unlimited dictation, for US$9.99 a month or US$89.99 a year, plus applicable tax.
• Pro is sold to customers in Canada and the United States only.
• We may change prices. A new price never applies to a period you already paid for, and we tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal.

3. Free trial

• New Pro subscriptions start with a 14-day free trial, one per account. A card is needed to start it.
• We email you 3 days before the trial ends.
• If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged for the plan you chose, and the subscription continues.

4. Renewal and cancelling

• Pro renews automatically every month or every year, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time from the app (Account, then Manage subscription) or from the link in any billing email. See manage your subscription.
• When you cancel, Pro keeps working until the end of the period you paid for, then your account goes back to Free.
• If a payment fails, we and our payment providers try again for a time; Pro may pause until the payment succeeds.
• Refunds follow our refund policy.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by RevenueCat and Stripe on our behalf, under their own terms. Prices are in US dollars; your bank may convert them and charge a fee. Sales tax is added where the law requires.

6. Using Speech Pill

• We give you a personal, non-transferable right to install and use Speech Pill on your own computers for as long as you have an account.
• Do not copy, resell, reverse engineer or modify the app, or get around the Free plan's limit or other technical limits, except where the law allows it.
• Do not use Speech Pill to break the law or to harm others.
• What you dictate is yours. Speech recognition runs on your PC, and we never receive what you say or type.

7. Early versions

Speech Pill is new and still changing. Versions given to testers before the public launch may have bugs, and features may change or be removed. Check important text before you send it.

8. No warranty

Speech Pill is provided "as is". Speech recognition makes mistakes, and we do not promise that it will be accurate, uninterrupted or free of errors. As far as the law allows, we make no other promises, written or implied.

9. Limit of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost data, lost profits or text sent with a dictation mistake, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be limited.

10. Ending your account

You can stop using Speech Pill and ask us to delete your account at any time (see the privacy policy). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms; if we close a paid account without good cause, we refund the unused part of the period.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We change the date at the top, and for important changes we tell you by email before they apply. If you keep using Speech Pill after that, the new terms apply.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without taking away any consumer protection you have where you live.
